The same kitchen by day: a 3D tour in daylight

The next day, the same kitchen and living room were filmed again — in daylight, with things in different places. Compare it with the lamplit tour: the space is the same, the feel is not.

What daylight changed

The colours are cooler: grey cabinet fronts, pale tiles, white walls without the warm cast of the lamps. It's the same space with a different feel — so pick the light for filming with the viewer in mind.

What didn't come out right

The fridge with its glossy doors is smeared: tours handle gloss and reflections worse than matte surfaces. The ceiling above the cabinets is blotchy in places. And there's an open suitcase in the foreground: a tour shows the room exactly as it was filmed, so clear away anything you don't want in it first.

Tip

For selling or renting, film in daylight with all the lamps on — the space looks bright and honest. For memories, film when the room looks most like itself. Right after filming, the app takes a few seconds to check sharpness, light and lamp flicker, and tells you if it's better to film again.

Film your own 3D tour

You need an Android phone with ARCore (Android 9 or newer). New users get 3 minutes of filming free.
